Dagens Medicin in Denmark was established in 1997 as a biweekly independent newspaper adressing all Danish doctors, pharmacists and decision-makers in the health care sector. It became an immediate success covering economy, science and other professional health care topics, and Dagens Medicin was transformed into a weekly newspaper in 1999 with a wide range of supplements. Dagens Medicins runs approximatly 24 300 copies every Thursday (38 times a year) in a controlled circulation due to Danish law and its restrictions on the pharmaceutical industry’s advertising for drugs on prescription. Dagens Medicin also operates a homepage (dagensmedicin.dk) and newsletters with daily news.
