The President of of Poland, Lech Kaczyński, has awarded Hans Jacob Bonnier the Polish Commander Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland. The ambassador Michał Czyż presented the award at a ceremony at the embassy of Poland in Stockholm.
“You deserved your own place in the Hall of Fame of contributors to the Polish success story”, said ambassador Michał Czyż
“Beside taking part in transformation of the Polish economy and creating thousands of new jobs in my country, which is crucial, through your activities in the broadly understood public perception sphere, you have been fostering a fundamental change in mentality and the way of living of the Polish people. This is fundamental in closing the gap between Poland and the most developed countries.
Here, I wish to refer to the creation of the Bonnier Business Polska, and the launching of the Puls Biznesu in 1997, which is now one of the most important and influential business newspapers in Poland.”
